Jul 27, 2013 -- 9:15am

A Seaford man who is accused of impersonating a police officer was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in Camden by DATE Agents.  40 year old Franckel Desir was stopped after agents observed a vehicle suddenly pull onto the shoulder and proceed through a red light.  A citizen told police that the vehicle was driving erratically and running vehicles off the road, using flashing emergency lights on the dash and a siren.  Desir showed police his Delaware registered vehicle was equipped with flashing lights on the dash and a siren and confirmed that Desir was a member of the NYPD Auxiliary.   However he isn’t authorized to identify himself as a police officer out of state and the flashing lights and siren are not allowed.  The NYPD was not aware that he had left New York to live in Delaware.  Desir was charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer and using unauthorized flashing lights on vehicle.
