Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Hit-&-Run Crash in Newark

Jul 24, 2013 -- 10:47am

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a hit-and-run accident in Newark.

Delaware State Police say 26-year-old Bryan Adams of Rising Sun, Maryland was riding his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Capitol Trail just after 10:40 Tuesday night. As he approached the intersection with Polly Drummond Road, Troopers say a vehicle in front of him slowed, and he ran into the back of the vehicle. Adams, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike, and the vehicle that he ran into took off. He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.

State Police are still investigating the accident, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle that fled the scene, which is believed to be a truck or SUV that should have rear-end damage. Anyone with information is asked to State Police Troop 2 at (302) 834-2620, extension 278.
