A man was treated for his injuries and was arrested for DUI after crashing into a light pole on Route 50 early this morning.
Maryland State Police say just after 1 o’clock this morning, witnesses say a Toyota Echo was drifting from the travel lane on westbound Route 50 into the left-turn lane at the intersection of Route 610 in Whaleyville. Witnesses say the car continued off the road and into a light pole. The driver, Stephen Cohen, was taken to PRMC in Salisbury to be treated for injuries he suffered in the crash. Troopers believe he was driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested and charged.
The crash closed traffic on westbound Route 50 for about an hour as the crash was cleared and investigated.
