May 04, 2013 -- 9:55am

Supporters of the death penalty in Maryland have started a petition drive to overturn the repeal of the state’s death penalty.

A rally in support of the death penalty was held on Friday at Camden Yards in Baltimore. A red sign with the words “What If?” was displayed in front of the speakers at the rally.

Supporters will need to get 55,736 valid signatures on the petition by June 30 to get death penalty repeal on the ballot for a referendum vote in November. Residents can sign the petition online at MDPetitions.com.
