The Delaware State Parks will be hosting four workshops to teach surf anglers how to drive on the beach.
The workshops will be held at Cape Henlopen State Park on two Saturdays, May 11 and June 15, and two Sundays, May 19 and June 2. Each day, the workshops will begin with a presentation in the Seaside Nature Center at 9:30 a.m. After that, park rangers and surf fishing experts will teach attendees the rules and regulations for driving on the beach. They’ll also give tips on how to drive safely, how to avoid getting stuck, and how to get out if you do get stuck in the sand. The beach driving part of the workshops will be done weather permitting.
Park entrance fees will be in effect, and the fee for the workshop is $5. Drivers are asked to bring their safe driving equipment, which includes a low-pressure tire gauge, a tow rope or chain, a board, a jack, and a shovel.
