The Delaware Senate Executive Committee will this afternoon take up a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in the First State.
Last week, the House passed the measure by a vote of 23-18; supporters and opponents tell WGMD News they expect another close vote if the SEC votes today to send it to the full Senate for consideration.
Gov. Jack Markell has said he supports the measure and will sign the bill into law if the General Assembly passes it. If that happens, Delaware would become the 11th state to authorize same-sex marriage.
