Two Vehicle Crash in Middletown Leaves 2 Injured

Apr 30, 2013 -- 11:03am

Delaware State Police say a crash near Middletown this morning resulted in an overturned tractor trailer closing a section of Route 301.

Police say the crash happened just after 2 a.m. when a Chevy van, driven by 21-year-old Yuni Gonzalez, collided with a southbound 2006 Peterbilt towing a tanker trailer, driven by 49-year-old David Strang of Elmer, New Jersey. Police say the impact caused the tanker trailer to roll onto its side, blocking both lanes of the roadway.

Strang, who was properly restrained, was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. Gonzalez was also taken to Christiana for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries; he was charged with DUI and several other offenses.
