DSP Investigating Harrington Robbery

Apr 29, 2013 -- 3:51am

Delaware State Police today are investigating a robbery of a Harrington man who offered a ride to two strangers Sunday afternoon.

Police say the incident occurred around 4 p.m. as the 45-year-old victim picked up two men who were walking along Route 14 just east of Sandbox Road; police say the victim offered to give the two strangers a ride to Harrington. The two men however instructed the driver to make a series of turns on some back roads before the rear seat suspect held what he believed to be a gun to the back of his neck. Once they arrived on Bloomfield Drive, the suspects demanded the victim's money. He complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspects then exited the vehicle and fled into some nearby woods.

The victim was not injured in the incident.
