Sens. Carper & Coons Sponsor Bipartisan Bill to Eliminate Unnecessary EPA Regs on DE Farmers

Apr 24, 2013 -- 4:53am

Delaware Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons on Tuesday co-sponsored a bipartisan bill to eliminate an unnecessary and costly Environmental Protection Agency regulation on pesticides that affects many of Delaware’s farmers.

The Sensible Environmental Protection Act of 2013 is cosponsored by a bipartisan group of Senators that also includes Senators from Idaho, North Dakota, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Indiana.

Senator Carper says this bill, that affects hardworking Delaware farmers, will help ease the burden of duplicate regulations by reforming the pesticide permitting process in a responsible way that protects everyone’s health without wasting taxpayer dollars or straining  agricultural producers.
