UPDATE: Parksley Woman Arrested in Connection with Arson Fire Mon Night in Melfa; 2nd Person Being Questioned; Press Conference Scheduled for 3:30 P.M.

UPDATED STORY:  Virginia State Police tell WGMD this morning that an arrest has been made in connection with last night's fire in Melfa in Accomack County.

Monday night’s fire broke out just before midnight at an abandoned building on Airport Drive and Beacon Road.

Police say 40-year-old Tonya Bundick of Parksley is being charged with deliberately setting last night’s fire; she’s been charged with one felony count of arson and one felony count of conspiracy to commit arson.

Police say they arrested Bundick during a traffic stop shortly after the fire started; Bundick is being held without bail this morning at the Accomack County Jail.

Police are today continuing to question a second person in connection with last night's arson. And State Police have scheduled a 3:30 p.m. press conference today to discuss the fires.

ORIGINAL STORY:  Virginia State Police tell WGMD this morning that that two people are in custody for questioning, but NO arrests have been made in connection with an overnight fire in Melfa.

There’s been no word yet if last night’s fire is related to 76 other deliberately set fires in Accomack County since last November.

Monday night’s fire broke out around midnight at an abandoned building on Airport Drive and Beacon Road.
