The bill to repeal the death penalty in Delaware has been placed in committee in the state House.
Senate Bill 19 was assigned to the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday. The bill was passed in an 11 to 10 vote in the Senate on March 26. An amendment was placed with the bill that says the 17 inmates who are currently on Delaware’s death row would still face the death penalty.
A date for the Judiciary Committee to hear the bill hasn’t been scheduled at this time.
