Visitors to Rehoboth Beach this summer will find something new. If they ride a scooter around town – they’ll have to pay to park or get a season-long permit. Commissioner Pat Coluzzi tells WGMD why they’ve focused on the scooters this year in an effort to keep them off the sidewalks and away from pedestrians.
Permits for the scooters are $40 for the season – and there are scooter corrals throughout the town where they can be parked – or they can pay for a parking meter. Scooters will not be allowed to park in the bike racks. Permits will go into effect on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.
