Legislation is being sponsored by Representative Stephanie Bolden, who is a former Wilmington City Councilwoman, that would allow the city of Wilmington to enact laws and regulations relating to firearms. Several gun control proposals have been introduced by the Wilmington city Council which mirror the measures outlined by Governor Markell and Attorney General Beau Biden. House Bill 62 would help Wilmington address the issue of gun violence directly – instead of waiting of the General Assembly to act. The bill will be heard in committee on Wednesday.
