Police in Accomack County Set Up Checkpoints in Hopes of Catching Arsonist

Mar 09, 2013 -- 4:15am

There have been 64 arson fires in Accomack County since mid-November last year. And Police still do NOT know who is setting the fires. So, in an effort to catch the perpetrator(s), police are taking over the County through Tuesday.

A spokeswoman with Virginia State Police says they are determined to put a stop to the fires. Police will saturate Accomack County with checkpoints so they can hand out  fliers with the Accomack County Arson Tip Line and reward information on it.  Police are offering a $25,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest and conviction.
