A Seaford man has been arrested for dealing heroin after a traffic stop.
Delaware State Police say just before 6 o’clock Thursday night, a trooper was almost hit by a vehicle traveling west on Concord Road that crossed the center line. The trooper says the driver, 26-year-old Ryan West, was acting erratically as he tried to find the paperwork for his vehicle, and then put his hands in his pockets while the trooper tried to do a DUI investigation. When West was told to turn around for a pat down, he tried to run away, but fell down and was tasered. The trooper says he found 22 individually packaged bags of heroin, weighing just over half a gram, and nearly $1,200 in profits from drug deals.
West has been charged with several drug and traffic offenses, including possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, and DUI-drugs. He’s being held at SCI on $8,150 bond.
