DSSA: Meeting With Markell's, Biden's Offices On Gun Legislation "Cordial But Unproductive"

Mar 06, 2013 -- 11:17am

The Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association is saying that its most recent meeting with representatives from the offices of Governor Jack Markell and Attorney General Beau Biden was “cordial but unproductive.”

The February 25 meeting was an effort by the Governor’s and Attorney General’s Offices to get input from representatives of gun owners on proposed new legislation to increase school safety after the Sandy Hook shooting in December in Connecticut. The DSSA says that by definition, criminals don’t obey the law, so efforts to restrict bans on guns, magazine capacities, and other restrictions on lawful sales and possession on guns will only infringe on Second Amendment rights.
