DelDOT Warning Prime Hook Beach Residents They May Be Cut Off By Flooding

Mar 06, 2013 -- 10:49am

DelDOT is warning residents of the Prime Hook Beach community that they may be cut off by flooding during this nor'easter.

High water is being reported on Prime Hook Road, but the road is still currently passable. DelDOT says that because of differences in the wind direction and tides in this storm compared to past storms, North Bay Shore Drive, the emergency alternate route for Prime Hook Beach, could also flood. If that happens, Prime Hook Beach would be cut off from the mainland for the rest of the storm.

DelDOT is recommending that anyone who wants to leave Prime Hook Beach should do so now, while the tide is going down. The next high tide on the Delaware Bay will be around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
