UPDATED: Power Restored to Most after Crash Near Peddler's Village

2:45pm - Five Delaware Electric Cooperative members remain without power as crews work to restore the utility pole that was knocked down just after 1pm.  State Police tell WGMD a man was headed westbound Route 24 west of Peddlers Village went off the road and into a utility pole.  Charges are pending for suspicion of drugs.  The driver was not injured. Traffic is being detoured around the Peddler’s Village area while the pole is being repaired.  Traffic is being detoured around the scene on Robinsonville and Camp Arrowhead Roads.

2pm - About 700 Delaware Electric Cooperative members in the Lewes, Angola and Long Neck areas lost power for a time this afternoon after a single vehicle crash on Route 24 near Hart’s Road – west of Peddler’s Village.  Jeremy Tucker at the Co-op tells WGMD nearly everyone has had power restored except for about 6 members who are close to the accident scene.  The crash knocked down a utility pole and took down wires and Tucker says it could be up to 2 hours before they restore the utility pole.  Traffic is being detoured around the scene on Robinsonville and Camp Arrowhead Roads.

1:20PM - Power is out for about 700 Delaware Electric Cooperative members in the Lewes, Angola and Long Neck areas.  Jeremy Tucker at the Co-op tells WGMD a car accident in the area of Route 24 and Hart's Road near Peddler's Village has taken out a couple of utility poles and the wires are down.  It's not known yet how long power will be out but crews area on the scene. Traffic is being detoured around the scene on Robinsonville and Camp Arrowhead Roads.
