UPDATE: Five Students Sustain Minor Injuries in School Bus Crash in Blades

UPDATED STORY:  An update on that school bus accident in Blades this morning.

Blades Police Chief Edwin Cooke tells WGMD that the bus was carrying 33 students from Blades Elementary School, along with the driver when it collided with a passenger vehicle on East High Street around 8:30 a.m.

Chief Cooke says five students were taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with MINOR injuries; the bus driver was NOT hurt. The Chief also says the female driver of the other car sustained minor injuries in the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY:  An update on that school bus accident in Blades this morning.

Here’s ALL we know right now….the bus was carrying 33 students from Blades Elementary School, along with the driver.

We know the accident happened on East High Street. But we do NOT know the extent of injuries, although eyewitnesses tell WGMD that some children have been taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

We will release details as they come into the newsroom.
