Former Rehoboth resident and one of the nation’s leading gun control advocates, Sarah Brady will be in Annapolis today to help raise money for Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence.
Brady, the wife of James Brady who was press secretary to President Ronald Reagan and was left paralyzed after an assassination attempt in 1981, is also expected to meet today with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley.
Sarah Brady is the co-founder of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, and has advocated for gun control legislation across the country.
As is the case here in Delaware, Gov. O’Malley is also sponsoring a bill in Maryland to ban assault weapons, require anyone buying a handgun to be fingerprinted and place additional license requirements on handgun purchases.
