Perdue Milford Plant Employees Donate Nearly $20K to United Way of Delaware

Feb 06, 2013 -- 3:37pm

Employees at Perdue's Milford plant presented a check for $19,734 to the United Way of Delaware during a ceremony today at the plant. The check represents the amount of money the employees donated to Perdue's annual campaign for the United Way last year.

United Way President and CEO Michelle Taylor says the United Way appreciates its longstanding relationship with Perdue, and the support the company provides, both financially and through volunteering by employees. She says without the money, it would be much more difficult for the organization to carry out its mission in Kent and Sussex Counties.

Perdue Director of Operations Dean Walston says the donation is in keeping with the vision of the Perdue family to give back to the communities where it does business and where its employees live and work. He says the donation speaks very highly of the character of the employees at the Milford plant.
