Hockessin Cleaners Deemed Unsafe After Van Hits Bldg.

Delaware State Police are investigating an early morning crash today into the Hockessin Cleaners.

Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. as 28-year-old Jose Garcia of Wilmington was attempting to back his Dodge Caravan out of a parking space adjacent to the Hockessin Cleaners on Lancaster Pike. 

Police say Garcia told them his foot slipped off the brake and the vehicle lurched forward into the side of the building causing structural damage.

Garcia was not injured; he was cited though for DUI.

Code Enforcement officials deemed the building unsafe.
