At-Risk Worcester County Residents Can Get Help With Social Security Disability Claims, Getting IDs

Jan 24, 2013 -- 10:20am

At-risk residents in Worcester County will now be able to get access to forms of identification.

The Core Service Agencies of Worcester, Somerset and Wicomico Counties are offering the Homeless ID Project to help residents who are at risk of becoming homeless and have mental health and substance abuse disorders get their birth certificates and state ID cards. The agencies are also offering another program called SOAR, or Social Security Insurance and Disability Insurance Outreach Access and Recovery. That program helps residents get decisions on their social security claims within 90 days.

Information about the programs is available by calling the Worcester County Core Service Agency at (410) 632-3366, or the Somerset-Wicomico Core Service Agency at (410) 543-6981.
