DelDOT Kept Busy with Snow Clearing this Year

Feb 15, 2014 -- 10:20am

We’ve seen more snow this year in Delaware than we’ve seen in quite some time.  Clearing all that snow and ice from First State road is expensive.  Through Wednesday DelDOT this year has spent $10.3-million.  They’ve paid 48 days of overtime – a total of 65,729 hours of OT worked.  They’ve used over 68,826 tons of salt at a cost of over $4.47-million.  Delaware has 13,731 lane miles of roads – 89% is maintained by DelDOT.
