Delmarva Power and the PJM Interconnection are still asking for your help to conserve electricity into Wednesday morning. A new winter peak record was set by the PJM power grid Tuesday morning of 138,600 megawatts, but that’s expected to be broken through the overnight hours. Power officials are asking you to conserve electricity – if health permits – especially from 6am to 9am by setting your thermostat lower, delaying the use of stoves, dishwashers and clothes dryers until midday and turn off unneeded lights. Demand is expected to remain high Wednesday morning – but below record levels, however generating plants in the region are stressed by the bitterly cold temperatures.
