Dec 12, 2013 -- 11:42am

The man accused of stealing a dog from a pet store Thanksgiving weekend has been arrested.

On November 29, police were called to the Super Pets on Civic Avenue for a report of a dog that was stolen from the store. Surveillance video showed a man take a 10-week-old dachshund puppy out of its crate, put it into his jacket, and then leave. The dog is worth $900. The man was identified through a tip as 28-year-old Joshua Utz of Glen Burnie, Maryland.

On Wednesday, the Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Utz at a home on Railroad Avenue in Pittsville. He’s been charged with theft under $1,000. He was released, and will have to appear in Wicomico County District Court on February 4.
