A motorcyclist is in serious condition after a crash in New Castle.

Delaware State Police say around 6 o’clock Monday night, 51-year-old Lisa Porter of New Castle was trying to turn left out of a parking lot onto East Basin Road. As she began to cross the westbound lanes, the driver’s side of her Ford Fusion was hit by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The rider on the motorcycle, 29-year-old Ryan Kachmar of New Castle, was taken to Christiana Hospital to be treated for a serious head injury. No one in Porter’s car was injured.

Porter was given a ticket for failing to yield the right of way.
