Details Of 2013 Governor's Challenge Basketball Tournament to be Revealed This Morning

We’ll find out today which schools from southern Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland will be competing in this year’s Governor’s Challenge Basketball Tournament at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury.

Details about this year’s tournament will be revealed at 10:30 this morning in the Flanders Room in the Civic Center. The head coaches from Wicomico, J.M. Bennett, Parkside, Stephen Decatur, Washington and Pocomoke High Schools will be in attendance to represent Maryland. Head Coaches Tim Velasco of Delmar, Shawn Phillips of Laurel and Steve Re of Cape Henlopen will represent Delaware.

The tournament will be held from December 26 through December 29, and will feature 35 teams from Delaware and Maryland. This year, the Governor’s Challenge will expand to include an AAU division for players in grades 4 through 8.
