DelDOT to Receive Settlement In IR Inlet Bridge Suit

A settlement between DelDOT and the 2 companies involved in the original roadway embankments for the Indian River Inlet Bridge.  Both MACTEC and Figg deny responsibility but are required to pay the state $5.25-million – which must be used by the state for transportation projects that include federal funds.  The lawsuit was scheduled to go to trial in May of 2014.   The settlement avoids the uncertainty of a lengthy trial.
