DNREC Fish and Wildlife agents met with 313 boaters, hunters, fishermen and the general public between October 8 and 15. Agents responded to 32 complaints, and wrote 28 citations.
On Tuesday, Charles Crossan III of Bear was charged with failing to tag and failing to register an antlered deer, and trespassing on private lands near the C&D Canal Conservation Area. If he’s found guilty on all three charges, Crosan faces a minimum penalty of $1,441 in fines and court costs.
With the first split season for duck hunting opening on October 25, the Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding duck hunters to check their gear bags, coats, boats and other gear to make sure they’re not carrying lead shot.
