Environmentally conscious runners will have a chance to run for Delaware’s rivers this morning.
DNREC will be hosting its sixth annual “Race for Our Rivers” 5K Run and Fun Walk today at the Blackbird Creek Reserve in Townsend. The purpose of the run is to raise awareness about water quality, and also help to pay for projects that protect the First State’s waterways.
The run will begin at 9 o’clock, and is part of a partnership between DNREC and the Blackbird Creek Fall Festival. Prizes will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top runners in age groups ranging from 13 and under all the way up to 60 and over.
