BREAKING & UPDATED: Fire at OC's Majestic Hotel at 7th Street

Oct 18, 2013 -- 2:27pm

UPDATE - 4:30PM -  Fire broke out just after 12:30 this afternoon on the Boardwalk in Ocean City at 7th Street.  Fire was found coming from the basement of the landmark Majestic Hotel when fire crews arrived on the scene.  Witnesses say they heard a loud “BOOM” come from the building and then saw smoke.  The fire was put out a short time later, but because the hotel is one of the oldest buildings on the boardwalk, additional alarms were put out.  One Ocean City Fire Cadet was treated for a minor injury at the scene.  Preliminary investigation shows the fire began in the basement, however the Ocean City Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
