The Route 26 widening project will starting soon and DelDOT will hold a public workshop on the upcoming construction next week. The public workshop is to let businesses and you in on the Route 26 Atlantic Avenue, Clarksville to Assawoman Canal Project – there is no public comment period – this is purely informational. The public workshop is Tuesday, October 15 from 4 to 7pm in the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach. The project will rebuild Route 26 to improve traffic operations, safety and roadway conditions. The roadway will also be widened to include 2 – 11-foot travel lanes with 5-foot shoulder or bike lanes and a 12-foot wide continuous shared center left turn lane. Construction is set to begin later this year – and will last at least 2 and a half years – with completion by the summer or fall of 2016.
