Delaware Governor Jack Markell and a state education director will be taking part in a summit about education next week in New York City.
Governor Markell and the Executive Director of the Delaware Office of Early Learning, Harriet Dichter, will be among more than 300 people representing government, business, education, philanthropy and media at the Fourth Annual NBC News Education Nation Summit at the New York Public Library in Manhattan. The summit will discuss the relationship between education and economic opportunity. It’ll begin on Sunday, and run through Tuesday.
Dichter will take part in a panel discussion on Monday afternoon entitled “What It Takes: A Great Start.” She’ll be joined by Lloyd Blankfein, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, a preschool services director, and a student from Washington, D.C. Also on Monday, Governor Markell will be part of a panel discussion called “What It Takes: Well-Trained Teachers.”
