Special Hunting Days Set for Youths and Disabled Hunters

Oct 01, 2013 -- 8:09pm

Three Saturdays have been designated as special waterfowl and deer hunting days for youth hunters aged 10 to 15 and non-ambulatory disabled hunters. The first special hunt day is this Saturday, October 5 – and it will be a wildfowl hunting day for youth and non-ambulatory hunters.  Youth hunters must be with a licensed or exempt adult hunter 21 or older and they must be able to handle a firearm safely.  For youth hunters 13 to 15 you must have finished a hunter education course, have a certification card and buy a Delaware junior hunting license.  For disabled hunters – specialized blinds and stands and hunting locations are available as well as special hunting permits.  Normal limits and duck hunting regulations apply.  The next special hunting day will be Saturday, November 2 – and that’s a deer hunting day for youths and non-ambulatory disabled hunters.  And Saturday, February 8, 2014 will be a second wildfowl hunting day.
