Station 4 is the Montego Bay firehouse but this week it began to disappear as demolition on the current building has begun. Over the next year a new station 4 will be built. While the construction is ongoing – north Ocean City will still have fire and emergency service. The fire crew will operate from the temporary station 4 which is set up in a maintenance shed on city owned property at Northside Park. Officials say staff and equipment will always be available and no part of town will be lacking fire or EMS coverage. The new building, which is expected to open in the spring, will have more space in the engine bay and provide areas for both duty crews and the department’s successful live-in program.
