The Blue Collar Jobs Task Force is getting ready for your ideas on ways to revitalize the First State’s Blue Collar economy. The Blue Collar Jobs Task force has been meeting to study the problem of how to revitalize Delaware’s blue collar economy. A series of 3 public hearings which will end in Sussex County are being held. The task force is chaired by Representative Michael Mulrooney who says getting the middle class back on track is a priority – and blue collar jobs are the backbone of Delaware’s middle class. However blue collar jobs took a hard hit during the recession and have been slower than the general economy to recover. The public hearings will be held – at the Middletown Town Hall Council Chambers on October 15, In Kent County on November 13 in Meeting Rooms 1 & 2 at the Department of Agriculture and in Sussex County on November 20 at the UD Carvel Research & Education Center on Route 9 in Georgetown. All three meetings are from 5:30 to 8pm.
