Sep 21, 2013 -- 8:02am

A Cape alum and a friend will be walking across Sussex County today to raise money for education.

Jacob Buttery and Alexander Albanese will walk across the county to raise money for the Cape Henlopen Education Foundation as an effort to support public education. The walk will start on Route 16 at the Maryland-Delaware border, and will move through Greenwood, Ellendale and Milton before ending at Cape Henlopen High School, a total distance of 35.6 miles. Buttery and Albanese won’t be walking on Route 1, and will be accompanied by an escort.

Albanese is a graduate of Cape, and says he wanted to do the walk as a way to give back to his hometown community.
