UPDATED 1 PM SEPTEMBER 8: Delaware State Police have charged a Leipsic man with murder in the death of a Dover woman who went missing last weekend.
Troopers arrested 21-year-old Tony Mozick, Jr. this morning, and charged him with first-degree murder and abusing a corpse. He's being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center without bond. Mozick was the subject of an investigation that started on Wednesday, when the family of 19-year-old Taylor Owens reported her missing to State Police, saying they hadn't seen or heard from her since August 31. Around 5:40 Saturday evening, State Police responded to a wooded area on Denny Street in Leipsic after the charred remains of a human body were discovered. The body was identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as that of Owens. Troopers say Mozick is connected to Owens' death as the result of a domestic dispute that happened in the Denny Street home they shared. State Police say Mozick then moved her body from the home into the woods, where he tried to dispose of it by burning it.
