Delaware’s largest cycling event is underway.
The Amish Country Bike Tour will take cyclists through Dover and the farmland of Kent County. The 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100-mile rides started at Legislative Mall at 8 o’clock this morning. During the ride, cyclists can stop at four food and rest stops, including the “pie stop” at the Amish Schoolhouse, featuring slices of locally baked pie. Following the ride, cyclists will enjoy a fully catered barbeque meal. From noon to 3, Celtic Harvest of Dover will be playing Irish folk music.
Cyclists this year range in age from 1 to 82. Last year’s Amish Country Bike Tour drew 2,200 cyclists from 25 states and as far away as the United Kingdom.
