A disaster or emergency situation can happen at any time. September is National Emergency Preparedness Month and the American Red Cross has some tips to help you prepare. While you don’t know what could happen next – you can be better prepared so you know what to do when an emergency occurs. September 21 is National Emergency Preparedness Day and the Red Cross will be at the Delaware Ag Museum and Village from 10am to 2pm to help you prepare and learn more about preparedness. Have a plan so that everyone in the household knows what they should do and where to meet – either in or away from the home. Build an emergency kit – in something that’s easy to use at home and that can go with you if you evacuate. Take a first aid and CPR course and check out the Red Cross apps that are available for your smart phone!
