Maryland Fire Investigators have New tool to Aid Investigations

Aug 31, 2013 -- 12:12am

Fire investigators in Maryland have a new Fire Investigation Support Unit to help them with active investigations of fires. This unit calls Harford County home – but Deputy State Fire Marshal, Bruce Bouch tells WGMD it will be used statewide while it’s used is being evaluated. It's hoped that one will eventually be placed in each of the state's fire districts. The unit is a Chevy Express Van with a cargo trailer towed behind it – with tools and necessary equipment to perform extensive and accurate fire investigations. The funding came from a State Homeland Security Grant.
