Delaware’s Congressional Delegation and Governor Jack Markell have announced a $10-mllion grant to the Diamond State Port Corporation from the US Transportation Department.  The funds will be used to rehabilitate a wharf that dates back to 1923 that needs repair and serves 2 critical general cargo berths at the Port.   The Port’s grant application was chosen from over 700 through a competitive merit-based evaluation process.  The Diamond State Port Corporation, which owns and operates the Port will cover the remaining $3.4-million for the wharf rehab.
