DRBA Looking to Link DE & NJ by Bike Trails & Ferry

Aug 24, 2013 -- 2:23am

The Delaware River and Bay Authority is working on a bike trail that would pass through two states – going from Rehoboth Beach to the Cape May County Zoo. The bike trail would be linked by the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.  Already there are bike trails on the Delaware side that go from Rehoboth Beach to the Lewes ferry terminal.  Another 16-mile rail trail between Georgetown and Lewes is also in the planning stages and other bike paths in Sussex County are being planned.  The DRBA has widened shoulders on some Lower Township roads to accommodate bike riders and the concept would link Lower & Middle Townships with future spurs that could include the county airport and former Fort Apache in Middle Township and other tourist and recreational attractions.
