Aug 21, 2013 -- 6:08pm

State Police have ended a month-long drug investigation with the arrest of 29 year old Stephen Grabowski of Bear.  Grabowski was stopped by police in the parking lot of the Wawa in New Castle.  He tried to run off on foot, but was arrested after a short chase.  Grabowski was linked to drug dealing in the New Castle area – selling heroin and prescription medications.  He was found in possession of a bag of packaged heroin found in his pants and 8 prescription pills.  A search of a room at the Dutch Inn motel, which was also linked to Grabowski turned up a loaded .25 caliber semiautomatic handgun under the mattress of a bed and ammunition in a pill bottle on a nightstand, marijuana and a smoking pipe.  Two crossbows and arrows were also found.  Grabowski is charged with a variety of drug and weapons offenses and is being held at Young Correctional in default of $93,500 cash bond.
