Japanese Trade Delegation Visiting DE This Week

A delegation of government and business officials from Delaware’s sister state of Miyagi, Japan, are in the First State on a week-long trip this week to meet with state leaders and businesses to foster economic and business relationships, particularly in the food and agriculture sectors.

They will tour the Delaware State Fair, present Japanese food samples to fair visitors and hand out information on tourism in Miyagi, and meet with Gov. Jack Markell on Governor’s Day, Thursday. The delegation will be meeting with Delaware businesses today and Tuesday and meeting Delaware residents at the State Fair, presenting food samples and giving cooking demonstrations, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Delaware and Miyagi are sister states and have conducted cultural and educational exchanges over the last 15 years.
