Beginning at 9 o’clock TONIGHT, the Maryland State Highway Administration will begin replace deteriorating pipes under Route 575 (Worcester Highway) at Crippen Branch, located immediately south of Route 90 in Worcester County.
Two new concrete culverts will be installed and a small section of Route 575 will be resurfaced.
All work is scheduled to be completed by noon Friday, July 26, weather permitting.
As part of SHA’s system preservation program, two existing corrugated metal pipes will be replaced with two reinforced concrete pipes. The newly constructed concrete culvert will minimize the potential for roadway flooding. SHA will establish separate detours on Route 575 for both northbound and southbound motorists approaching the culvert replacement.
