Delmarva Power Asks Customers To Conserve Energy 2-6pm Wednesday

Jul 16, 2013 -- 6:27pm

Delmarva Power is asking customers to conserve energy Wednesday as increased demand for electricity is expected throughout the Mid-Atlantic.  The power supply is expected to be sufficient to meet the anticipated high demand, but you are encouraged to conserve energy.  Delaware customers who take part on the Peak Energy Savings will receive a phone call indicating the savings period – for 2pm and 6pm – and those who do reduce energy usage below their specified baseline during the Peak Savings can receive a credit of $1.25 off their bill for every kilowatt hour.  Those in Maryland & Delaware in the Energy Wise Rewards program will experience a cycling of their AC Compressors off and on for short intervals during the conservation period.  The Peak Energy Savings and Energy Wise Rewards are voluntary programs.
