NTSB Releases Preliminary Report On Ocean City Plane Crash

Jul 14, 2013 -- 7:13am

The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the June 30 plane crash that killed two Ocean City Police Officers.

The report says that based on videos on still photos, the plane was intact when it hit the water, but the body was found to be fractured in several places on the ocea floor. When a salvage company recovered the plane from the ocean on July 4, a video camera was found inside. That camera has been sent to Washington, D.C. to be analyzed. Meanwhile, NTSB investigators are examining the plane at a salvage company in Clayton.

This past week, the two officers who were in that plane were laid to rest. Joshua Adickes was remembered during a memorial service in Schooley's Mountain, New Jersey. Thomas Geoghegan was honored with viewings and memorial services in Annapolis on Friday and Ocean Pines on Saturday.
