UPDATE: 3 Roads Remain Closed Due To Washout, Underground Pipe Failures

UPDATED 5:30 PM: Three roads in Sussex County will be closed for several more days as a result of Friday's heavy rain and flooding.

Falling Point Road between Wingate Road and Pepper Creek Road east of Dagsboro is closed due to a washout. Zoar Road near the intersection with Lawson Road between Georgetown and Millsboro, and Careys Camp Road between Route 24 and Pear Tree Road between Millsboro and Laurel are both closed due to underground pipe failures.

Indian Mission Road at Mount Joy Road is still closed due to high water on the road, and will remain closed until Sunday.

More roads have been reopened following yesterday’s heavy rains and flooding.

River Road in Oak Orchard, Route 24 eastbound west of Long Neck and Fisher Road at Hopkins Road west of Lewes have all reopened after being closed yesterday due to high water. Meanwhile, Falling Point Road between Wingate Road and Pepper Creek Road east of Dagsboro is still closed due to damage from yesterday’s rainstorm.
